The Blue 3M Tape you see on the edges was pre-installed by the factory to keep the adhesive backing from coming over the edge during transport / shipping.  Its 3M Blue Painters tape - it will come right off.  Peel off the white backing on the back and you can permanently install this on a Boat - RV - Golf Cart - Anywhere you want!
