Warranty Returns & Products Returned for Testing

We recommend you have a quality multi-meter that can test both DC & AC Volts and Amps for installing and testing your equipment prior to returning to Solar Marine Supply. Please see the end of this page for recommendations. We understand not everyone may have a multi-meter when installing but it is a required tool for installations and troubleshooting for self-install systems. All equipment purchased from Solar Marine Supply at wholesale pricing or other online channels at discount pricing are subject to a testing fee. Any equipment installed by Solar Marine Supply or sold as packaged systems through a Solar Marine Dealer or SalesRep at MSRP pricing will have unlimited technical support and testing.

We can bench and field test your equipment (Ex. PV Panel(s), Charge Controllers, Inverters, Switches, ect) in house. If you do not have the capability to test your equipment, there is and $85 testing per each hour of testing, troubleshooting & reporting with your equipment.

We recommend the following FLUKE Multi-Meters: 115 / 117 / 175 / 177 / 179 / 27-II / 28-II / 28-II EX / 233 / 287 / 289 / 83V / 87V.

A DC-Clamp Meter is recommended for inverters / batteries and also solar. We recommend the following FLUKE Clamp Meters: 325 / 365 / 374 / 375 / 376 / 381 / 355

Always follow the multi-meter manufactures’ specifications for use and testing or consult a qualified ABYC certified marine electrician or integrator. Its also advised to properly fuse your test leads prior to testing a solar panels’ current and cover the module prior to connecting / disconnecting live leads / wires.

Warranty

If an item made or provided by/under Solar Marine Supply and is found to be defective we will replace the item free of charge and cover shipping fees.  Because we are a wholesale distributor, if a brand name item / product is found defective, the warranty will be covered through the manufacturer, as most all solar items ex.: charge controllers, solar panels / modules, ect, are Q.C. & tested by the manufacturer.  We can and will help with your warranty through the manufacturer with some product lines but shipping costs to and returned from Solar Marine Supply are not included.

Installation Warranty

Solar Marine Supply will warranty their installation for three years.  Partial & component installations will be warrantied as specified on the invoice / service receipt.  Although we use premium electrical, mechanical connections and fasteners, corrosion, acts of god, wear & tear, abuse, weather and all subjects out of our installation control will not be covered.  All wiring is installed according to USGC & ABYC Standards.
